The Spires are large mage towers scattered across Kouréas and the wider world, each containing a teleportation circle that connects to the wider network. Think of them as Teleportation Towers — travelers can move between any two connected Spires instantly, for a fee or with the right credentials.
Note: Not all Spires have “Spire” in their name. Wastewatch, Wastehaven, Bonewatch, Initem, and Finem are all Spires — they just don’t carry the name.

Connection to the Teleportation Network
The Spires are part of a broader magical infrastructure:
- The Bell Tower — emits the same magic signature; connected to the network
- The Oasis — same magic signature
- The Veil-Tear — floating above the island; connected signature
- The Spirit Engines — ancient broken portals in The Pit (possibly the original network)
Whether the Spirit Engines are the origin of the Spire network or a parallel system is unconfirmed.
Emberspire — The Lighthouse
Emberspire is the Lighthouse referenced in The Quiet Year. It sits on the eastern coast of Kouréas and faces directly toward Eritessa across the sea. It is both a working teleportation Spire and a navigational lighthouse — the last light travelers see before crossing to the main continent, and the first light they see returning.
Zenspire
The most lore-significant Spire. Located inside The Forbidden Fruits Orchard on Eritessa. Named after Zen au Kouréas who purchased the orchard during the first campaign. The orchard became famous for The Seven Deadly Sips.
