The master-craftsman's mark (Mei) on the Lepus Katana — a Basil Leaf, the crest of the Lepus family. When Ollus sheaths the Katana in his saya the Mei glows gold — and Basil's Wakizashi hilt glows the same gold, proving the daisho is a matched pair (and her Lepus blood).
