The Island-Continent of Kouréas
Kouréas is the island-continent where the Echoes of ITYS campaign takes place. It was named after the Lich Zen au Kouréas (formerly Zen au Lycoris), a progenitor member of the The House of Lycoris who triggered the apocalypse and whose name became a curse — and eventually the name of the land itself.
- Translated meaning: “The Barber” — from the name Zen au Kouréas
- ⚠️ Whisper mishears: Always transcribes as “Korea” — correct to “Kouréas” in all transcripts
- The Kouréas (with the definite article) = the necrotic entity/faction spreading through the southern wetlands — a completely separate thing from the continent name
The Continent of Eritessa
Eritessa lies across the water, past the Lighthouse. This is the main continent — the larger world beyond Kouréas. Key facts:
- Zen au Kouréas is expected to return from Eritessa (from the east)
- Jacques-Bjorn sailed to Eritessa during The Quiet Year and discovered demons emerging from the continent
- The second Veil-Tear is located on Eritessa — demons have been spilling through it
- The full extent of Eritessa’s civilization is unknown — an unknown civilization was discovered by Jacques-Bjorn before The Quiet Year ended
The Lighthouse
A landmark at the water’s edge between Kouréas and Eritessa — visible from the shore, marks the boundary between the island-continent and the open sea toward Eritessa.

- The Oasis — exact location unknown
- The Veil-Tear — floating above the island
The Spirit Engines beneath The Pit may be the source or hub of this network — ancient broken portals/stargates.
