The mortal vessel being made to hold the goddess
Selûne does not endure in one body. She waxes and wanes through her phases of the moon, and at each turning she is set into a new vessel. Purdona is such a vessel in the making — flesh shaped to hold a goddess, remade once in a thousand years, a living seam between the pantheon and the turning of the loop.

Overview
Purdona is a mortal vessel being created to hold the goddess Selûne. The goddess cycles through her “phases of the moon” by being placed into a new vessel; when a vessel has run its course, it must be remade — once every dispensation, which is to say once every 1,000 years.
Purdona is therefore far more than a single person: she is a living link between the pantheon and the dispensation loop. Each remaking of the vessel marks a turning of the great circle of time described in The Three Paths, binding the fate of a goddess to the thousand-year rhythm of the world itself.
Purdona appears in Chapter 4 of Echoes of ITYS as this vessel in the making — the point where the abstract machinery of Kaethos’s cosmology takes mortal, breathing form.
