Three heroes get isekai’d into roadkill at the worst port in history — body-swapped into a turtle, a hare, and an owl — and the only god who answers the phone is a dead cat in a wizard hat. They survive a genocide by getting drunk at the Applebee’s of Kouréas and licking each other to fly. Greenport is on fire, everyone is dead, and the only way out is a saint whispering “come find me.”

Frame & format
Recorded between Ch 2.3 and 2.4 with Chris absent, so Dave runs the table (Xeros conveniently “in the bathroom”). TBD’s chronomancy anomaly at the Battle of the Bands flings the party into a vision/time-loop where they wake inhabiting the bodies of three animalia during the historical Fall of Greenport — a massacre they witness firsthand. This is one of the campaign’s richest ch5 lore drops.
The dream loop has a basement, and this is it. A flash of TBD’s chronomancy at the festival throws Nortle, Foulclaw, and Basil out of their own bodies and into three animals living through the Fall of Greenport — a century-old atrocity. Foulclaw wakes as a snow owl in the blood-soaked Rookery (and is immediately sniped); Nortle wakes as a sea turtle and Basil as a speckled gray hare (cursed to keep shrinking) on the burning docks, beneath a sky of purple veil-stone haze over black-sailed warships and war dirigibles flying the six-fingered severed-hand crest of the House of Lycoris. A veil-stone water-explosion rockets them across the city; they regroup at the Forbidden Fruits tavern (“the Applebee’s of Kouréas”), loot a cabinet of magical sins-themed booze, and flee a seven-foot Harengon general crushing veil stones to powder for blood magic. Through near-death, a telepathic voice reaches Foulclaw — the ghost of Saint Gray.
The middle of the session is a guided tour of a dying theocracy. Sheltering in the Temple of Selûne — the moon goddess of healing, her symbol two eyes and seven silver stars — the party is restored and lore-dumped: Greenport is a terraced cliff-port built around a half-mile waterfall, water-powered top to bottom, where high elves of the upper bowl hoard the water and rule the animalia (owlin, harengon, tortle, leonin, kenku, tabaxi) as slaves — “very Egypt, very House of Israel.” Saint Gray — a tabaxi wizard demigod, patron of all the Animalia of Kouréas and Eritessa, the only animal present at the Forgotten Hour, who sacrificed himself against Zen and the Four Horsemen and faked his death with reincarnation magic — has hand-picked this party and is guiding them from beyond. Then they raid the Temple of Gog, where kobold cultists confess the horror: the elves and the death-god Gog have a genocidal pact — once the elves “ascend to the heavens,” Gog releases his followers into “the black” (oblivion-as-grace) in exchange for exterminating every animalia in Greenport.
The climax is pure chaos. The disguised High Cleric of Gog — a tortle general named Kral — stomps in, and the party drops him spectacularly: Nortle punches Kral’s own charging fireball back down his throat “like a Pez dispenser,” and Basil’s katana decapitates him as it detonates inside, the blast leveling both temples. The bell tolls midnight over a city of corpses; Foulclaw quietly pockets a pocket-of-holding full of future-dated Rookery scrolls (a literal prophecy cheat-sheet). And then an eight-foot black Parangon drops from the dark and one-shots the entire party — at which point Saint Gray yanks them out of the vision: “You have some time, but not much. Things are going to go very bad. Please use this information… come find me.” They snap back to the fairgrounds beside a baffled Eros. “Pretty sure that was our only chance back, but…”
