Overview

Wolfgang is a non-winged Aasimar and the new director of the Battle of the Bands in Magus, having replaced the vanished previous director, Salieri. He is “car-salesy” and genial, the sort who greets everyone like an old friend and trades “good deeds” for a coveted finale performance slot. Concealed beneath his clothing he wears a Dreamcatcher necklace, spotted by the party in Ch 2.4.

He is the chapter’s traitor. When TBD confided in him about the chronomancy book, Wolfgang strummed the Dreamcatcher — “Dreamweaver, I know you can help me get me through the night” — summoning the Dreamweaver, putting TBD to sleep, and handing him over in a bargain. This memory was revealed in Ch 2.8.

His betrayal did not save him. Found asleep on the party’s forest path as a Ch 2.8 cliffhanger, the attempt to cut the Dreamcatcher off him backfired: he fused into “Nightmare Wolfgang” and was killed, his death helping to “charge” the Dreamcatcher relic.

Story

Arc

  • Established as the new, car-salesy director of the Battle of the Bands in Magus, replacing the vanished Salieri, trading good deeds for finale slots.

  • Memory reveals he summoned the Dreamweaver by strumming the Dreamcatcher and handed the sleeping TBD over in a bargain (revealed Ch 2.8).

  • Cutting the Dreamcatcher off him backfires in Ch 2.9; he fuses into “Nightmare Wolfgang” and is killed, his death charging the relic.

  • 250412-ch2.9 (⏱ 00:00:25:18) — The ‘Wolf King’ found comatose in the Dark Woods, put to sleep by the dreamcatcher. He struck a deal with Roses and Guns to stop the party, was transformed into a Nightmare Wolfgang fused with the Dreamweaver, and was killed, ending the dream loop.
